Powerful Words

I am not a bookworm.  (Although I love reading a lot, particularly inspiring and motivational books.)  Sometimes I wish I am one so that there would be no problem in studying reference books for recitations and exams… 🙂  Yesterday I was going through some notes and came across a notebook that contains inspiring words, texts lifted from books, magazines, newspapers and the internet which I wrote down after reading.   Actually I haven’t done that in a long time, copying texts that are meaningful, picking out words that are vague and looking for their meaning… I miss doing that and am looking forward to doing it again.

Here are some of those words:

“If I can conceive it and believe it, I can achieve it.  It’s not my aptitude but my attitude that will determine my altitude – with a little intestinal fortitude!” – Jesse Jackson

“Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t do this or that.  That’s nonsense.  Make up your mind, you’ll never use crutches or a stick, then have a go at everything… never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible.”  –Douglas Bader

“The past is a rich resource on which we can draw in order to make decisions for the future, but it does not dictate our choices.  We should look back at the past and select what is good and leave behind what is bad.” –Nelson Mandela, The Struggle is My Life

“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” –Eleanor Roosevelt (You Learn by Living)

“Dreams are the spark plugs of the spirit.  Make sure you are ready for action.” -Karl Moore

“If you make a commitment – honor it;
If you make a promise – keep it;
If you set a goal – achieve it.”
– Garry Ryan Blair

“You are wealthy now with an abundance of what you are thinking about.  The world is a creative engine, and will create whatever you are really thinking.  Every thought in you mind is a prayer about you, no matter who the subject seems to be.”  -Brad Jenner

Reading is wonderful.  Learning is bliss! 🙂
