Never Give Up

The 1992 Olympic Games witnessed a touching scene when Derek Anthony Redmond tore his hamstring while competing for the 400 meter sprint. Instead of staying lying down or being carried by the paramedics he chose to continue the race. His father who saw his son in pain rushed to the track to help his son, together they continued and Derek Redmond finished the race with a standing ovation. Due to his injury he was no longer able to compete in the same sport but with the encouragement of his father, he tried other sports and succeeded. 20 years after the touching moment, Jim Redmond, Derek’s father, has been chosen to carry the Olympic flame in the 2012 London Olympics.

In life there are instances when you may feel like giving up, DON’T quit, continue the journey, continue the fight. It doesn’t matter whether you finish first or you finish last, what matters is that you continued to move forward despite the hurdles and remember that you have a Father up above who will aid you, who will come to help you finish the race if you let Him. 🙂
